With roots in the mining sector, the company evolved from Tesner Consulting Pty Ltd, established in 2014 to deliver civil and structural engineering solutions across sub-Saharan Africa. Recognizing the need for a multi-disciplinary advisory approach, Baobab Engineering Advisory (BEA) was founded to expand the service offering.

With over 27 years of hands-on experience, Rob Tesner leads Baobab Engineering Advisory with a deep understanding of civil, structural, and infrastructure design. From concept to execution, Rob has delivered across the full project lifecycle—guiding multi-disciplinary teams and managing complex mining and industrial projects throughout Africa.
His leadership is defined by technical rigour, practical problem-solving, and a relentless drive for quality. Under his guidance, Baobab continues to grow as a trusted partner in engineering excellence.
